WRITINGS

My concern has largely been the human body. The real body has the capacity to express large truths – of dignity, of pain, of survival. I use the device of fairy tales and myths to make visible negotiations from the realm of desire to the realm of the flesh, undeniably physical and palpable. There is implicit a bid for a utopian possibility, a triumph of the human being overcoming the travails of the journey with dignity and integrity.

The success of protest lies in its subversive use of the very system it has problem with. Its beauty becomes apparent through its form. It has been my project to speak about identity issues via the aesthetics of the field

I am primarily concerned with the beauty and aesthetic of the medium and the form in which I speak about my truths.
I have worked with the analysis and re- looking of myths, alleged historical events and dogmas, especially those which are used to perpetrate acts of othering, the making invisible or silent.
